On the 8th of February 2018 my family and I travelled to Hamburg, Germany for my two week scholarship to the Hamburg School of Ballett, John Neumeier.

I absolutely loved being a part of the level four fulltime class. Everyday we had two hours of classical ballet class and some days we had a pionte class. My teachers name was Carolina Borrajo, she was very nice, and I learnt a lot from her classes. On the last Saturday I had a different teacher, Anna Urban, I really enjoyed her classical class.

All of the students were lovely and even though they were in the middle of learning English they were very kind and didn’t hesitate to try and talk to me. I was privileged to be able to watch one of the level seven classical classes, taken by Leslie Hughes, which I really enjoyed because I saw a few Australian girls that have been at the Hamburg ballet school for a while.

At the end of the two weeks I had the opportunity to audition for the Hamburg ballet school, which was a wonderful experience, as I had never done a live audition before. My audition was successful and I have been offered a position in their fulltime program. I am so grateful for this offer and It was so amazing to be dancing right in front of John Neumeier himself.

I really love Hamburg as a city, it is so beautiful and historical.

I would like to thank AHA Awards for this wonderful opportunity and also the Hamburg ballet school for making these two weeks so memorable.
