Being selected as junior 2nd place winner and also offered a scholarship was simply an amazing experience and such an honour to be recognised alongside many wonderful dancers.

This award meant so much to me, it strengthened my belief in myself and motivated me more, to be the best I can be and to strive for excellence.

With much gratitude, I returned in January from attending the Amanda Bollinger Dance Academy scholarship.   I learnt so much and valued every moment. Miss Amanda and the teachers were fantastic! I found studying Vaganova made the classes both challenging and rewarding and after a long day, I really enjoyed the beach walk or swim class, where I was able to create some beautiful friendships and stretch out those tired muscles.

I believe my journey as a dancer truly blossomed the day I walked through the doors of the St James Theatre in New Zealand to attend your prestigious event the 'Alana Haines Australasian awards'. I had no idea I was going to make the finals, let alone win 2nd place or what amazing opportunities lay ahead.

Since competing in the 2017 Alana Haines Australasian Awards, I have been offered 3 full time training placements into 3 incredible Ballet Schools.  Elmhurst School of Ballet, Birmingham UK, The Australian Ballet School, Melbourne, Australia and The Dutch National Ballet Academy, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Thank you so much for continuing to support and encourage young dancers like myself. I believe the Alana Haines Awards sincerely changed my life, in the best way possible. I will always remember your 'Alana Haines'.
