English National Ballet School new additions to teaching faculty

Mr Carlos Valcárcel joins us as Director of Dance and third year men’s teacher. Following an illustrious performing career, Mr Valcárcel’s teaching has taken him around the world. He is credited with coaching principal ballerinas and has served as a judge of international ballet competitions. He has also choreographed pieces and coached participants for elite competitions. He joins us from Ballet Arizona where he has been Director of its school since 2011.

Former Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal, Mr David Yow joins us as second year men’s teacher. Mr Yow has previously taught at Elmhurst Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, The Laban Centre, and London Studio Centre.

Ms Taina Morales joins us from L’École Supérieure de ballet du Québec in Canada and will be teaching ballet to our second year women. Ms Morales graduated from the Cuban National Ballet School and danced with Cuban National Ballet. As a ballet mistress, she has worked with students from junior to senior levels coaching them for performances in international competitions and galas. In 2014 she won the Outstanding Teacher Award at the Youth America Grand Prix European Semi Finals.

English National Ballet School -

We are now accepting applications for our Audition Courses (23 October & 2 January) and Spring Intensive (12–13 February). Our Short Courses offer aspiring young dancers the opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to train at English National Ballet School. Students experience teaching in a variety of areas such as Repertoire, Coaching, Pointe, Contemporary and Character with our highly experienced teaching faculty.

Applications for our Summer Courses will open later this year.
