Alice writes….

I felt so privileged to attend the John Cranko Schule for around two and a half weeks in December. We did classical classes in Vaganova style which was new to me and I loved the challenge. It was also so great to meet other students from all over the world as there were 33 different nationalities at the school, including a Kiwi dancer I know, so it was so nice to be greeted by a friendly face!

The teachers I had, Natalia Gasmaeva and Galina Solovieva were really helpful and inspirational. I was also very fortunate to do some classes with the Director, Tadeusz Matacz. 

While I was there, I went to see the Stuttgarter Ballett which was stunning and I really enjoyed Stuttgart itself (especially the Christmas markets!). It was such an amazing experience, I found it really motivating to watch the beautiful dancers at the school and I learnt so much. Thank you so much to Katie Haines, the Alana Haines Awards, the Sponsors and the John Cranko Schule, for making this trip possible for me.
