I wish to thank Katie Haines and all the wonderful organisers and scholarship sponsors who are involved in the Alana Haines Awards 2017.  To make the finals and be awarded a summer school scholarship to the Royal Danish Ballet was such a surprise and a dream come true.

During my two weeks at the Royal Danish Ballet Summer school I participated in the Elite Women’s Programme which included Classical class, Repertoire, Pointe class, pas de deux, conditioning and Pilates and modern/contemporary classes. 

My favourite class was Classical and Pointe, and I enjoyed the challenge on Bourneville week, which was so different from my normal classical syllabus.  I would like to thank all my summer school teachers, who are such an inspiration.  Also a special thanks to Alexander Staeger (Director of the Summer school) and Meaghan Spedden (Assistant) who organised such a wonderful program.

This experience was so rewarding from the knowledge of what I have learnt to the making of new friends.  It has only made me more determined to continue on to be the best I can be in classical ballet.
