Scholarship to Canterbury Ballet

Rylie says……..

From 29 May to 2 June 2017, I attended Canterbury Ballet School. I had a wonderful week of dance and really enjoyed making new dance friends with the school’s full-time dancers.  During the week, I attended the following classes - classical ballet, pointe, allegro, contemporary, pirouettes, character, neo classical and adage. My days at the school started at about 8.30am and finished at 4.30pm.  It was a new experience for me to dance full-time and I really enjoyed it – especially as the week went on.  While I also won an accommodation grant, I decided not to use it and stayed with family. 

 It was great to have the opportunity to get new tips from the teachers at Canterbury Ballet and I especially enjoyed the one-on-one coaching that I received from the head teacher Taisia Missevich.  I also liked watching some of the competition solos and dances that the pupils at Canterbury Ballet were preparing.  Thanks again AHA Awards and Canterbury Ballet for this incredible experience.
