I would like to thank Katie Haines, the judges and all the volunteers involved with the Alana Haines Australasia competition in 2015. To be involved in such an event was of the biggest highlight of the year, and I feel very lucky and privileged to have won a 2 week full time training course to the Central School of Ballet in London this January.

At the Central School of Ballet I attended several classes in Classical, pointe, contemporary, pas de deux and many more. I really enjoyed the opportunity to have learned some group variations and some solo variations. But my favourite class was the class always done at the beginning of the day which was the classical ballet class. I think I learnt a lot from my teacher’s expertise and I am very grateful to have been offered this scholarship.

Alana Haines has encouraged me to work hard towards everything I do.

I would like to thank my teachers Heather and Melinda Palmer and all the other Meba teachers for helping me get this far and I hope to come back to the Alana Haines in 2017.

This year I competed in a competition in Japan coming 8th place out of 420 people.

Larissa also won 13 Years classical championship at Sydney Eisteddfod last July

Larissa's mum said...

Larissa called from London and saying ' Mum, I am very sorry but I don't want to go back to New Zealand. Everyone at CSB and her host family must have been very nice to her. She was away from parents first time for more than a week. Larissa is now very confident to catch public transport.
