Hana writes ....

I would like to say thank you to Katie for organising such a wonderful competition which not only I enjoyed and learnt a lot from but also opens doors to amazing opportunities for young dancers.

From 13th to 18th of July, I was given the opportunity to experience the full-time training at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy.  I was kindly welcomed by all the teachers, students and staff, and was able to feel at home immediately.  Every morning, we started with either Limber Stretch Conditioning or Pilates, followed by Classical Class.  The classical class was advanced for me and it was challenging but I liked watching the beautiful examples by great teachers such as Ms. Lucinda Dunn and Ms. Katie Pianoff.  The other girls danced beautifully which made me learn a lot from them, too.  Because I just started pointe work last term, I only did barre work on pointe and joined the rest of the pointe class in my ballet shoes.  During the week, I also got to do Contemporary, Character, Pas de deux and Repetoire as well as coaching classes with Mrs. Pearson and Ms. Dunn.  It was my first pas de deux class ever and was very exciting.  I had fun being supported and lifted.

Having teachers who have had amazing careers and having students who are all very dedicated and talented around me was such an inspiring opportunity.  I am thankful to AHA Awards and everyone at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy for giving me this chance, and also to all my teachers at The Graduate College of Dance for their guidance and support.
