In partnership with the Auckland Arts Festival we are thrilled to offer a masterclass with ballet superstar Sergei Polunin.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for advanced male ballet dancers to share studio time with Sergei, well known for his Take Me To Church video and subject of the 2016 documentary Dancer.

Born in Kherson, Ukraine, Sergei graduated from the Kiev Choreographic Institute and joined the British Royal Ballet School in 2003 at the age of 13, becoming their youngest ever Principal in 2010. Sergei left the Royal Ballet in 2012 and is currently a principal guest artist at Munich State Ballet Theatre and other world leading ballet companies as well as drawing together world-class artists for his brand new production- Project Polunin.

This masterclass is for 16+ male professional ballet dancers, senior ballet dance students and professional contemporary dancers with a strong ballet base.

Sergei is currently in New Zealand exclusively for the Sadlers Wells production of Natalia Osipova And Guests.
This brand-new work, commissioned by Natalia Osipova herself, sees the multi award-winning dancer venture into a new realm of artistic expression. The three-part programme comprises work by three contemporary choreographers: Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Russell Maliphant and Arthur Pita. Osipova will be joined onstage by dancers Jason Kittelberger, James OHara and Sergei Polunin.
